Whose familiar with Meebo might have a feeling of déjà vu when they first enter the Soashable website and that feeling would be warranted. Soashable is in fact more of a clone than it is a new concept but it does differ in at least one important way: Soashable is an open source project meaning that anyone can download it and build their own version of the site.
Soashable is currently in beta and does not have all of the features that Meebo does, like games, chat rooms or a developer platform. What it does provide is multi-protocol, web based chat which developers can take and do what they like with.
