ADD.org – Attention Deficit Disorder Association

ADD.orgMany people believe that ADD and ADHD are issues which only affect children, but ADD.org puts an end to that misconception by offering information and resources to help adults with ADHD lead better lives. The truth is that children who suffer from ADHD may very well also suffer from the disease as adults. Unfortunately, because the media has successfully branded the disease as an adolescent problem, many adults with ADHD do not realize they have the disease and are unlikely to seek help. The message of ADD.org is that there IS help for adult suffers of ADD.

The website offers extensive information and resources about Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), such as an ADHD Fact Sheet, a thorough FAQ, articles related to the disease, and ADD support group tips. ADD.org also provides details on how adults with the disorder can find help and support for themselves and their family.

Visitors to the website can search the professional directory for professionals who specialize in ADD treatment, they can locate a support group in their area, and they can even start their own support group with help from the Adult Support Group Manual provided on the website.

Additional resources available from ADD.org include webinars, webcasts, awareness and advocacy information about ADD, an online ADHD Adult self-screener, and a workplace brochure. Links are also provided to other organizations, services, and social networking sites which address the challenges of living with ADHD.

Visitors to the website may sign up for their free email newsletter which contains ADHD news, events listings and tips to help sufferers “live a successful, happy and empowered life.” Folks may also join ADDA through ADD.org for $45 per year for individual membership, $55 for family membership or $150 for a professional membership to the Attention Deficit Disorder Association.
