ACR.org – American College of Radiology

ACR.orgHome to the American College of Radiology, ACR.org provides information for residents and fellows as well as patients. The ACR section for professionals includes a learning center, articles on current issues in radiology, volunteer information, and useful links. It also has a section called “Beyond Residency” to help residents decide between a fellowship or a job. The volunteer section of ACR.org offers information about the Heart of Radiology campaign as well as ACR International Volunteer details. Current international volunteers are in Tanzania, Cambodia, and Rwanda.

The patient information portion of the ACR.org website addresses concerns patients may have about radiology services. Public service announcement videos are available on the site in both English and Spanish and include “Mother and Child Medical Imaging Safety,” “Husband and Wife Medical Imaging Safety,” and “What to Expect at Your MR Scan.” The website also provides safety questions for patients to ask their physician before a medical imaging exam such as, “How will this exam improve my care?” and “Are there alternative imaging exams that don’t use radiation?”

ACR.org also has a career center which they boast is the “premier electronic recruitment resource for the radiology profession.” Employers may create an employer account, view resumes, post jobs, and purchase recruitment products or services. Job seekers on ACR.org may create their own jobseeker account, post an anonymous resume, view the newest job postings, and create personal job alerts which will email them when a job that meets the criteria they select is posted.

A special breast imaging and mammography information section is also available from the ACR website to keep women informed about the importance of getting a mammogram. This section of ACR.org also provides information on the latest in breast imaging technology including Digital Mammography (DMIST), and ACRIN Breast Ultrasound screening for high-risk women. ACR.org
