Meipi.org – Collaborative Maps Solution

Meipi.orgMeipi is a web-based application developed with the aid of Google Maps that allows users to place pertinent information on a map of the world. To get started, register and create a new “meipi”.

Once you’ve done this, toggle around the map until you find your desired location, click on it, and add whatever information you like. The application can be used for a variety of things including: road closures, school hours, library hours and a host of others. If you don’t want to add anything, you can surf around the map to see what interesting information people have posted by simply clicking on any of the arrows and reading the pop-up windows.

Meipi.org In Their Own Words

“a meipi is a collaborative space in which users can add information and content in map form. Each meipi has a determined context which can be local or by theme.”

Why Meipi.org It Might Be A Killer

This could become a popular application for community groups and organizations looking for a way to reach out to their communities and provide them with up to date information.

Some Questions About Meipi.org

Already, in areas of Spain, the map has become too cluttered to be able to identify individual tags on the map. How will they solve this issue as the site becomes more popular? Meipi.org
