MailVU is a brand-new service (currently in beta) that will let you record a video email and send it out for free. All it takes in order to use this service is to have your webcam at hand, and have something to say.
If you meet both criteria, you will be capable of recording and sending a video message on the spot.
There are not really that many advanced features to talk about, other that the option of making the message auto-delete itself. That is implemented quite easily, as you can set a deletion period, or have the message auto-erased after it has been seen a couple of times. In any case, bear in mind that all messages are deleted sooner or later. You can specify exactly when manually, and set the default deletion date to anything up to 365 days.
It must also be stressed that the free service has a limitation as far as duration goes – you can not record messages that are longer than five minutes. This limitation will be lifted if you go for one of the premium accounts that are offered.
