Web2.0Write.com – Everything Written The Web 2.0 Way

  • February 3, 2009

Web2.0Write.comReviewing this site is not a difficult task, as it is quite easy to get its essence across. Basically, it enables you to submit a text and have the characters rewritten the Web 2.

0 way – IE, using the characters we all associate with Web 2.0 sites and initiatives. The results can then be shared by cutting and pasting the embeddable code that is produced.

Of course, we understand this because we are acquainted with the term “Web 2.0” – we see it on a daily basis, and we are watching it evolve into what some are already calling Web 3.0. But what about those who are unfamiliar with the concept? Has it ever happened to you that you had to try to get it across and failed? I bet it has happened, because the concept itself is either too expansive or too rapidly-evolving to be pinned down.

At any rate, definitions are not always accurate. Think about the way a definition necessarily strips a concept (any concept) from aspects that might not seem pivotal but which add a lot to the premise. For instance, if we had to define “Rocky” in a couple of choice words we would have to say something like “A brawny guy who fights very well.” That’s it, but that’s not it at the same time.

The best way to get the idea across is through experience. A friend wants to know what “Rocky” is all about? Lend him your DVDs. Someone wishes to delve on the concept of Web 2.0? Point him to some characteristic sites. He will get the drift. Otherwise, a site such as Web20Write will mean nothing to him other than texts written using a funny character set.
