More – Measure How Visible Your Site Is

SVRank.comThe story behind this startup is one that I am sure will resonate with many. In a nutshell, those who have created it champion the use of a new kind of paradigm for ranking sites. Instead of relying on algorithms such as the ones used by Alexa, Quancast and Compete and counting backlinks, the idea here is to rank sites according to aspects such as social media visibility and the news coverage that they have received.

Taking all these factors into account, a rank of its own is generated (and updated weekly after that). This is the Site Visibility Rank, and this rank can go from 1 to 10 (with 10 denoting the most visibility).

Obviously, the degree of relevance this is having will vary from one user to the other, and the importance they place on the data that is actually measured. At any rate, the concept that lies at its heart is not far-fetched. Not at all. I encourage you to put it to the test, and see how accurately it reflects the true standing of your site.
