Jotabl.com – Turning Twitter Into A Shoutbox
If you can imagine a shoutbox coupled with Twitter then you will be able to see this new app vividly in your mind’s eye already. Yes, Jotabl offers users nothing more and nothing less that a Twitter shoutbox which can be implemented to sites of every kind so that users can add yet another communication channel to the many they currently have available.
This one, though, has the distinct merit of taking Twitter into account, and the pairing is a good one owing to the specificity that characterizes Twitter, a service which many have touted as the natural evolution of SMS.
Once added to you site (for free) this shoutbox works in two different ways: the user posts something right there and it is automatically tweeted out, or he tweets something and includes the URL of your site as part of the tweet.
I don’t know whether just a handful of people will actually find this one Twitter app useful, but the truth is that anything which lets people communicate better then they could do before is intrinsically appealing. Whether people take to it is entirely different, but (when all is said and done) I think it is good to know such tools exist and that they can be applied at no cost.
