PlanningAlerts.com – Learn About Planning Applications

  • January 25, 2010

PlanningAlerts.comA service that will be usable by our British friends only, planning alerts will keep them notified about planning applications in their close vicinity 24/7. The notification process is handled via e-mail, and the information itself is taken from the official authorities so that you should not even worry about it being reputable or not.

Since the site is in beta not all local authorities are included yet. But more are being added each day.

The way you register for this service and stat receiving these notifications couldn’t be simpler, as all you have to do is submit both you email address and your postcode as well as the size area that is incumbent to you, IE you delineate what you consider your close vicinity by having your pick from three options that are provided. These include “My Street”, “My Neighbourhood” and “Wider Area”. When choosing, you can open up a map on a new window to ensure you are not falling short of your original intent. Roughly speaking, “My Street” amounts to 200 m, “My Neighbourhood” to 800 m and “Wider Area” to 2000 m. But I advice you to check the map, if you get that wrong the whole system would be pointless.
