Pikk.com – Like Digg But With A Twist Of Its Own

  • March 18, 2010

Pikk.comPikk is an aggregator of interesting stories on the WWW. The one (big) difference that it has with a site like Digg is that here the stories that are submitted receive either a positive or a negative vote, as opposed to Digg in which stories can only receive a vote of approval and move up the ranking as a result.

Giving users such an option certainly makes for a more engaging experience overall, as the site become more representative of public sentiment.

Leaving this rating system aside, the site is not that dissimilar from Digg in terms of structure – you can see the most popular stories that have been featured, check the ones that are forthcoming, and also submit links of your very own in just a couple of clicks.

A nice feature is that data can be exported from Pikk to your site and used to engage visitors. This is achieved via the provided widgets, and you can easily add polls highlighting the most-debated items on Pikk in a bid to increase the degree of involvement of those who stumble upon your site.
