Elements.Lunarr.com – Exploring Imagery And Creativity

  • February 10, 2009

Elements.Lunarr.comPresented by the Lunarr folks, Elements is an ambitious initiative that aims to let people carry out visual explorations in a manner as suited to the current state of Web 2.0 as it can be.

That is, it couples the richness of a service like Flickr and the follow features of Twitter, whereas content submission itself is molded after Tumblr. That is why I defined it as “ambitious” in the opening paragraph. Thinking big either propels you aloft or makes one fall flat on your face. In this case, I think the initiative is closer to the former than the latter.

I say so because I found the whole approach not only incredible versatile, but also very compelling from an inspirational point of view. Once one realizes who to follow, things gather pace in a grand way, and the right pieces are found easily. That is mainly because users can accompany their uploads with short texts (again – a la Twitter, but only shorter).

Theoretically speaking, this service can be replicated but only by employing several other disparate services at the same time. By way of conclusion, if you are into inspirational contents the site is definitely worth checking out, at lest once. Even if it somehow does not make it to the big time, I think it might stand as the shape of things to come.
