CloudTuner.com – Graphical User Interface For Search

  • August 11, 2008

CloudTuner.comCloudTuner is a revolutionary graphical user interface for search. CloudTuner advocates “What You See Is What You Get” approach to the search user interface by allowing query refinement and evaluation of returned search results using single graphical concept.

CloudTuner technology allows exploring an additional dimension of user input which is untapped by existing search interfaces, namely the relevance of a term to user information needs. CloudTuner menus generate new space for contextual advertising and provide build-in semantic services (e.g. ‘related terms, spelling suggestions, and translations). CloudTuner search interface scales well to multiple input devices including keyboard and mouse, mobile keypad and touch screen, IPTV remotes and game console controllers. The search UI is suitable for a multitude of search domains such as web and enterprise search, faceted e-commerce search, content-based image search, and more. CloudTuner believes that archaic text-based search interface is the ‘weakest link’ in current search systems, and as the saying goes ‘a system is as good as its weakest element’. CloudTuner.com

OSkope.com – Visual Search Engine

  • September 15, 2007

OSkope.comIf you’re performing a search online for something other than a document or webpage, sometimes you may feel limited by and burdened with typical search engines. What’s the use in running a search for a video clip on the internet and getting a series of links that you may or may not find helpful until you click on them and visit the actual page.

Well, now you don’t have to do that. oSkope is a visual search engine which, instead of displaying results composed of verbal links, shows you images of what you’ve searched for. For example, say you’re looking for a book on Amazon. Seeing images of the book’s cover would be a lot more useful than just seeing a list of titles, right? That’s precisely what oSkope does; enter in one of the four sites that oSkope uses (currently Amazon, Flickr, eBay, and YouTube), get more specific with some keywords, and oSkope produces a visual list of results. To select a result, simply click on the image; it will expand and if you confirm that that’s what you were searching for, oSkope will take you directly to its source.
