Young, Connected and Successful

Roll up those sleeves, turn on the computer and commence to succeeding financially online. Sounds impossible right? Wrong, the World Wide Web allows for your ideas to come to fruition if you have the drive and work ethic to see your dream happen.

The Start Of Success

The web has been around for years, honestly what would we do without the web. We would wander around like aimlesszombies, (no pun intended). But since we have the web, we can use it to our advantage. For instance the rise of e-commerce. Amazon, once a site for selling books has now grown to selling almost anything imaginable.

How have sites like Amazon and Craigslist grown into such big names? It’s no secret – hard work and dedication. Think about how e-commerce sites starting popping up all over the place. But not only e-commerce sites, but sites dedicated to connecting you with a lover, family member or old classmates.

It takes confidence to know that your idea is the right idea and that your idea will change the course of the web. I think of the many blogs that have how-to sites that help people repair or even install software on their computers. Think about how many times you’ve searched the web to find out the best way to instal a hard drive into your computer.

The Success

Take for instance a site like Pandora, a name that was rolling off of everyone’s tongue daily on my college campus. A Pandora reference would creep its way into a lunch time conversation just about every day. Think about the idea of a site that plays music according to what your music interests are. Somebody thought, “Hey this is a novel idea.” Sure enough it was, many people tuned into Pandora and now Spotify seems to be taking its place.

So word of mouth is important when trying to succeed in the internet world. No commercials were needed to promote Pandora, but it was and still is used quite frequently.

 The Road That Never Ends

Young people today have the tools they need, most of the time at their finger tips to create any site their heart desires. All you need is adobe suite, preferable: Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and a working knowledge of how the internet works. Which I’m sure comes to no surprise to any one reading this. Of course it takes an entrepreneur’s spirit and an attitude of giving up and not be afraid of a little hard work. Straight forward thinking is the way to go.
