Paper.li – Reading Twitter As If It Were A Newspaper

Paper.liI sincerely believe there is a facet of Twitter for just everybody. Well, I am left with no other option if I try to understand the emergence of these apps and sites that provide services which are a little offbeat.

That doesn’t make the any less useful, it is just that they have an appeal that is so circumscribed that one wonders how necessary they are.

The site that is being reviewed right now made me think of it all. It is not offbeat, but it is quite unique. You see, by giving it a visit you will be enabled to read the public stream of Twitter as if it were a newspaper. Each day, a new “edition” sees release, and the provided interface lets you know which ones are the trending topics in that installment.

To be frank, the approach is not bad from a conceptual point of view. Not at all. It is just that I wonder how practical will this be to the average Joe, he who is already accustomed to reading Twitter’s public timeline, and who sees no real reason to fix something that is not broken. And I am afraid that the answer is “not a lot”.
