The Value Of Boosting Your Pinfluence

The number of social media sites is growing daily but not all of them have the same impact as the top tier sites. Since it was first introduced two years ago, Pinterest has captured the number three position with an impressive 50 % gain from January to February.

Recent Experian report for the month of March 2012 had the following results for total visits per site.

  1. Facebook: 7 billion
  2. Twitter: 182 million
  3. Pinterest: 104 million
  4. LinkedIn: 86 million
  5. Tagged: 72 million
  6. Google+: 61 million

If you use these sites the right way you can improve how your startup and small business interact with your customers, vendors and associates. The key is understanding what the analytics mean for you.

What Is Pinfluence

If you are using Pinterest you can use different tools to measure the impact your page is having on your customers and gauge your reach or popularity. This is very important because your pinfluence is responsible for determining the value of your pins and the traffic they generate. High pinfluence means companies are willing to work with you to highlight their brand. The score is determined on a scale of 100 with high scores indicating better results.

The Score

If your page is able to get a score of 50 or more you are doing well. If you have a page on Pinterest you should know what your score is and what it means to other businesses.

  • Less than 40 – this is low to average and top brand companies will not give you much attention
  • 40 – 70 –  this is a great score and companies want to do business with you
  • 70 and over – this is the score where companies seek you out because you have a valuable commodity

Along with the scores different set of algorithms are used to assign the value of you pins, repins, comments and likes.

The monetary values are:

  • For an E-com Pin with a Pin with a landing page to a sales page it is $1.116
  • For a non-E-com Pin with a non sales page it is $0.58
  • For every traffic referral/outward click there is a maximum value of $0.16 on your Pin

The value assessed to these pins can change. Using tools such as PinReach, Pinpuff, and Pinerly can help you keep up with all the numbers.

PinReach

Previously called PinClout, This analytical site combines the activities of you page and the number of followers, Repins, comments, follower to follower ratio and other parameters to measure your Pinfluence. If you want to see what is taking place it also lets you know the latest trending pin, members and scores that have been recently checked. Also, theysolc measures the number of followers you have, who you follow and how many likes you have and based on this data it gives you a score with a maximum of 100.

Pinpuff

Pinpuff measures your influence as well as the value of your pins. All you have to do is put in your username to measure you score. Pinpuff is different in that it can calculate your virality.

Pinerly

Pinerly is in beta but it is the most anticipated analytic tool for Pinterest. When it is fully available it will measure clickthroughs, likes, repin campaign services and display it in using graphics in an easy to read format.

The meteoric rise of Pinterest should not discount the influence it has in the market place. It has been adopted rather quickly by major corporations to reach their customers. So no matter what size company you have you can use Pinterest to let your customers know who you are and what you do.
