What Do Whale Sharks Have To Do With The Price Of Bread In Bucharest Anyway?

If one quality has served me best in anything that I’ve tried my hand at in life, it’s been a willingness to admit that I’m not the smartest person in the field. Until now I had secretly hoped this willingness would one day make me the smartest person about recognizing that he is not the smartest person…

Anyway, I wouldn’t dream of telling startup founders and content creators that I have all the answers when it comes to creating viral content.

Rather than listen to me pontificate on the subject, I recommend that you find these four individuals online. They have science and proven experience behind what they say. In general, they’re engaging people and straight shooters.

Learn How To Create Viral Content From 4 Wizards

1. Jonah Berger

Jonah Berger literally wrote the book on the subject. Contagious: Why Things Catch On is a New York Times bestseller that explores the science behind viral hits. Read around online for three seconds and you’ll discover that 75% of writing on the subject refers to his work. His website, JonahBerger.com, is a great place to start.

2. Neetzan Zimmerman

Neetzan Zimmerman has a knack and an unbelievable work ethic. Until recently joining Whisper, Zimmerman was the superstar producer of viral hits at Gawker.  He also shies from self-promotion, so the best source for harnessing his superpowers that I’ve found is the HubSpot blog.

3. Derek Halpern

Derek Halpern dispenses solid, practical advice with regularity via the Social Triggers blog, podcast, and web TV show. His coverage of business and marketing has earned him a robust following of entrepreneurs. Here’s a great post on creating viral content. Another good example of his thoughtfulness, pointing out what many others overlook:

“When you’re looking to get traffic for your business website, make sure you show people how to implement the advice you give them. Take the time to show them an example, and give them next action steps.”

4. Ekaterina Walter

A proven marketer, social media leader, and author of the hit books Think Like Zuck and The Power of Visual Storytelling, Ekaterina Walter is practically an oracle on the best ways to connect with your audience and keep people engaged. Check out her blog, Building Social Bridges, at EkaterinaWalter.com.

Now tap into the brain power of these pros, and turn yourselves into viral content creation whizzes.
