VIPTrace Is Everything You Want IMDB To Be

All of us, if we’re being honest, know that there are certain celebrities that we’re at least a little bit obsessed with. A little bit or… Full-on screaming and crying crazy over a certain celeb the way every 12-year-old girl was into Leo when Titanic came out.

VIPtrace(You know who you are. It’s okay; we won’t judge you.)

Whether you’re a dedicated fan or just think someone’s work is particularly interesting, I have just the site for you. It’s called VIPTrace and basically it’s everything you wish IMDB actually was.

What am I looking at?

I want to start by explaining how the site works because, with no “About Us” or “How It Works” it may take a second for you to figure out exactly what’s going on here.

When you land on their homepage you’ll see Pinterest-style tiles with a pretty random assortment of celebrity faces. If you’re looking for a specific celeb, enter their name in the search bar at the top of the page. If you just want to browse, you have the option of scrolling through people who fall under a variety of categories or clicking on the icons to the left.

landing page

See someone you’re interested in? Click on their face and you’ll be brought to their site page. At the top you’ll find a biography that looks an awful lot like the one found on IMDB (in fact, VIPTrace does use their famous cousin as a source) followed by more tiles with all of their work and everything they’re even mentioned in presented in an easily accessible format.

Let’s take Michael Jackson as an example. Obviously Michael isn’t producing new work anymore, but his previous work as well as his story and image are still being used in productions across the creative spectrum. As a result, the tiles at the top of the page are things that his work has been included in or where he’s been mentioned.

If you move further down, however, you’ll find all of Michael’s actual work, all the way back to the beginning of his career in the 1970s. Basically it’s your one stop shop for everything you could ever want to know about Michael Jackson.

You can also learn fun random facts about artists you love and (for the ones that are still alive) find out where they’ll be performing next and make sure you get a ticket before they’re all sold out.

Now what?

Once you find someone you’re interested in, click the little star in the upper-right corner of the screen. That adds them to your traces, which then becomes a compilation and RSS feed of all your favorite celebs. If that celebrity is still alive and kicking (i.e. NOT Michael Jackson) VIPTrace will inform you about their upcoming performances, books, and upcoming events before anyone else, so you and your super-fandom can be sure to be in the know about all of your favorites.

So there you have it: VIPTrace is the perfect way to keep track of the creative work of all your favorite celebrities.
