Top 4 Children Monitoring Apps To Help Ease A Parent’s Worrying Mind

In the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, parents across the nation are wondering how they can protect their children even more than they already do. Well, there are actually many children monitoring apps to help parents keep track of their children’s well-being and give them peace of mind. Here are some of the best.

1. FBI Child ID

This app was  actually created by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to help store children’s identifications such as hair and eye color, weight, height, age, etc. The app is for iPhone and is available to send immediately if there was (God forbid) an emergency. Check out FBI Child ID here.

2. Footprints

This app uses GPS to track where your child is in real time. Using your child’s phone, you can see if they arrived at their location safely. Although your teenage child might not be to keen on this app, your youngsters (and you) will be happy to know they are safe with this location app. It’s free to download with a paid monthly subscription. Check it here.

3. iEmergency ICE Family PRO

ICE or In Case of Emergency is an app that lets parents store important health data such as specific prescriptions, allergies and medical conditions your child may have in case of, you guessed it, an emergency. It also lets you store info about health insurance and family doctors. The free version is iEmergency LITE (with limited storage of info and profiles) or you can opt for the full version for $2.99 for iPhone and iPad here.

4. iCam

iCam allows you to watch live video feeds on your mobile device of any room in your house and has gotten acclaim on Good Morning America, CNN and Today. This app is slightly complicated as you need a running computer and webcam in each room, as well as the compatible software, but if you want to make sure the kids are safe and sound in the playroom while you’re watching Oprah in the other room, this app may be worth it. You can download it for $4.99 here.

As a parent you want to make sure your child is safe at all times, obviously, and these apps can help modern families protect their kids better. So, check them out and get peace of mind.
