Elevator Pitch:

Taylor is your personal travel assistant, via text.

Why It’s A Killer Startup:

Those of you who have been paying attention know that I’m loving these personal assistant apps that are popping up like mushrooms on a forest floor in a humid Vermont summer. When they work, they really fulfill everything that startups aim to do, which is usually make people’s lives as easy as possible.

As a very frequent traveler who’s currently scrambling around in preparation for her latest trip, Taylor is a particularly appealing “personal assistant” app. Like a Siri that, a) actually works, and b) uses text and therefore avoids those annoying misunderstandings that Siri is famous for, Taylor is tailored (see what I did there?) to your personal travel needs. You can ask her anything, from good cafes to work in to where to stay, to who else is in the area and down to hang out.

Even cooler? Taylor can help you figure out where you want to travel next, based on your budget, your weather preferences, and your wifi needs. If she finds something that works for you, you can even book the flights and hotel rooms through her, although she charges for that service because it requires a real human to complete. Everything else, though? Totally free.

Travelers know that it’s rare to have enough time in a new place to know it like a local. We also know that there are about 8 million things that go into each and every trip, from figuring out how to get there to deciding where to stay, to finding a place to rest our digitally nomadic computers and get some work done to pay for the next trip. Taylor makes all of those things oh-so-much easier, and that’s really what we all want in the end, isn’t it?
