Simple tools are sometimes the ones that really stand out, despite their lack of fireworks. Screedbot is one such creature; at first glance, it may not seem noteworthy, but it is actually quite flexible.
What it does is create animated scrolling text– akin to rolling movie credits. Using it is incredibly easy. Start by typing in your desired text. Next customize your text using the tools located below the text box. Adjust text size, width (up to 600 px), and choose both font color and background color (type in the color values). Once all that is done, hit ‘Create Screed’; from there you can choose to save it to Flickr, ImageShack, or your hard drive. For Russian speakers, there’s an option to use the Cyrilic alphabet.
