WheresLulu.com – Places & Services For Disabled People

WheresLulu.comWe could define Where’s Lulu as a sort of Yelp that caters for disabled people. On the site, users can review and rate local venues by taking into account aspects such as accessibility, bathrooms and so forth.

The featured reviews can be looked up both by keyword (IE, breakfast, lunch…) and by ZIP Code.

The site is free and usable by just everybody, and you can post a review in an effortless manner. The rating system for venues goes from 1 to 5 stars, incidentally. I didn’t see a “View Best Rated” option when I visited the site, and adding that might as well be a good idea.

Currently, both Portland and the San Francisco Bay areas are covered. The company has plans for expanding to Boston and NYC in early 2010. It will be interesting to keep an eye on it – the startup is not only original but it plays out a priceless social role. I am certain to watch the way it evolves, and how quickly it keeps on expanding itself beyond these two areas.

Why WheresLulu.com It Might Be A Killer

There is a real need for a service such as this one, and hopefully it is expanding soon enough to cover the whole of the United States.
