Vectormagic.stanford.edu – Vectorize Bitmap Images

Vectormagic.stanford.eduVectorMagic is a web app produced by Stanford University that lets you convert your bitmap images into vector-based images. Considering that bitmap images are pixel-based and needless to say often look somewhat low budget, Vector Magic lets you “vectorize such images into new images represented by geometric shapes such as lines, circles and curves.

To vectorize your bitmap image, simply upload it from your hard drive. You’ll then configure your image depending on its properties (VectorMagic will make its best guess at what type of image you’re uploading and what transformations will produce the best result). After you confirm your image’s qualities, it will be “vectorized”, yielding an image with smoother boundaries and seamless blending. If it doesn’t turn out the way you like it, VectorMagic gives you several easy tweaking options.

“This site traces bitmap images, turning them into beautiful vector art. Just upload your image and we will convert it for you”.

Why Vectormagic.stanford.edu It Might Be A Killer

I tried out VectorMagic with several images, and the results are undeniably good. Every bitmap image I uploaded came out much better than it looked going into the process. VectorMagic makes accurate guesses about the resolution, color, and image type as well, so you don’t even necessarily have to know much about pixel-based images in order to use this site successfully.
