VaHealth.org – Family Health Care Services

VaHealth.org currently redirects to the Virginia Department of Health, more specifically to the Office of Family Health Services (http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/ofhs). On this site, you can learn everything about all the programs that are available. These are aimed at children, teenagers and adults, and they basically have the same objective: to strengthen the health of families and communities, to make people aware of risk avoidance procedures, and to inform the population of all these issues that affect (or could affect) public health in the State of Virginia.

All the information that’s collected by the Office of Family Health Services is grouped on four different website categories. These are “Prevention & Health Promotion”, “Community Nutrition”, “Child & Family Health” and “Policy & Evaluation”.

And the site also comes with a series of links to sites such as a directory of dentists in Virginia, an institutional review board and the US Department of Health and Human Services. And you can also access a meetings calendar where official health department meetings that are open to the public are announced.

The idea, then, is to let you learn everything about the different clinical, preventive and community-based services that you can rely on if there’s any kind of emergency.

And if you’re a healthcare professional who’s looking for a job, then this site is also one you will find useful. A “Jobs” link is provided, listing all available openings within Virginia.
