I have just read an article in which they attributed the stagnation of Twitter’s growth to the lack of massiveness it has. “Massiveness” in the sense that not everybody is there.
That is, compare the amount of friends and acquaintances that were on Facebook when you first joined and then think of the number of pals that were on Twitter the first day you became a member of the micro-messaging service. The difference is going to be significant at the very least, and monumental in some cases.
How could people become more attracted to the service, then? There are endless things that could be done and/or modified, and one of these is giving twitterers a more personalized experience. People like the feeling of being themselves, and the more they can customize something then the more hooked they will become.
Tweety Got Back will serve that purpose. It will anybody implement a theme on his profile page, and these range far and wide – from a couple which are related to music and sports and a handful that deal with celebrities, any Twitterer will have a chance to make his profile resemble him a little bit more.
This won’t make Twitter any more or less usable, of course. But it will let newcomers have a warmer time for sure. That is good for starters.
