search cancel – Start & Sign Petitions A La Twitter

TinyPetition.comSocial media is living up to its name. People can not only connect but actually do something towards the betterment of the society we all are an integral part of.

This new Twitter app does nothing but reinforce that stance. In principle, it lets anybody start and sign petitions using the celebrated micro-messaging solution.

All you have to do is choose a name for your petition along with a shortname and then describe it. A “suggest a shortname” functionality is provided just in case. You also have to supply your e-mail address for obvious reasons, and once you are done your petition will be displayed for all to weigh and act upon.

The role a service like this one can play out is so evident that it feels palpable. Everybody knows that if you want to reach out for the crowds, the first spot you must stop by is the Twitterverse. 75 petitions have already been created, and over 6,000 signatures have already been collected.
