This Week’s Best In Beta

Which startup is going to be the next big thing? Investors, bloggers, job seekers, and inspiring entrepreneurs everywhere are dying to know. Hundreds of startups enter private beta each month, and that’s far too many for any one person to keep up with. Fret not! Each week, I share some of the hottest new startups in this column, Best In Beta. Let’s discover the next big thing together!

As in any relationship, effective communication is the key for tenants and landlords staying happy with one another. And since date nights and couples therapy doesn’t exist for these partners, it’s a good idea for them to have tools that let them communicate quickly and easily.

TenantLoop looks like a tremendously straightforward and capable tool for the job. It’s a property management app that lets renters and landlords interact civilly and conveniently.

When something goes wrong in an apartment, it shouldn’t be hard to track down your landlord. Yet, landlords often oversee lots of units or keep different hours or don’t even live in the same area, so… With TenantLoop, renters and property managers can message one another in app. There’s no dealing with missed calls or delays. Since virtually everyone prefers using a mobile phone these days, it makes sense that tenants and landlords should be able to reach one another this way.

Maintenance requests can be sent directly as well, with details and photographs – this can cut down in the pointless back and forth that often takes place. Instead of scheduling to have someone come take a look and then arranging another visit, it’s possible to resolve issues much faster. And – good for both parties – there’s a record of both communication and requests.

Likewise, landlords can send reminders of scheduled maintenance. Yeah, not inconveniencing one another is great way to maintain a positive relationship. TenantLoop also gives landlords a clear channel for sending emergency notifications or reminders of late payments.

The app neatly arranges activities and alerts to make keeping properties straight easier for landlords.  With information accessible anywhere, they can address issues in more timely and convenient fashion.

TenantLoop facilitates other essential exchanges such as paying rent, signing leases and other documents. Basically, it lets renters and property managers get what they need from one another fast and easy, while building a simple but useful history of activity.

Both iOS and Android versions are in the works. Leave your email at tenantloop.com to receive notification of when they launch.
