KillerStartups – For Spotify Users Old & New

Spotibot.comSpotiBot calls itself “your unofficial Spotify buddy”, and it comes packed with enough features to become a good friend indeed. Its basic aim is to let you discover new music that you might like on the popular music service, but it will also enhance other aspects of your experience.

For example, you can use it to create playlists and link to songs and albums more accurately.

Coming back to the actual discovery of new tracks, that is done along the following lines: you send a tweet with the name of a band you like and then you will receive a recommendation within a couple of minutes. Alternatively, if you don’t want to have the message as part of your Twitter stream you can send and receive a private message. Useful if you hang out with a band playing Megadeth covers and you want to find artists that are similar to the Pussycat Dolls.

As you can see, it is all quite straightforward. Personally, I am always more partial to recommendations that come from humans, but this is quite good for a change. In Their Own Words
