Shoutworthy is a new system that aims to turn Facebook and Twitter into platforms that can be used to endorse our friends. Think of it like a game opener that takes the recommendations inherent to LinkedIn and makes them something which can be handled using the two social services mentioned above, and you will have a good understanding of what Shoutworthy is all about.
As I think you can imagine, using this site is anything but complicated. The relevant APIs are employed in order to tweet/post the recommendations straight to the person’s wall, and these endorsements are written far more easily than recommendations on LinkedIn. Each “shout out” that you post like this will be linked to your user profile, so that you will be accountable for what you have said at all times. In any case, the whole system is meant to be a “positive” one – you are not supposed to use Shoutworthy to criticize anybody, much less badmouth another person. The idea is that you will spotlight those within your close circle who excel at something, so that others take notice.
