An application which is out in beta right now, Secrets is a solution that will enable you to send encrypted messages that can only be read by those that you want. Essentially, all you have to do is compose and send the message, and the recipient will be able to read it only if he furnishes the secret password that is either chosen by you, or set down by the system itself.
The latter option is specially useful since a password which is generated by a computer is completely arbitrary, and far harder to crack as a result.
From a technical viewpoint, Secrets employs a DES encryption algorithm by default. If you want your message to be further protected you can also resort to stronger algorithms such as Triple DES, Blowfish and ArcFour.
