Scoop.it – Create Your Own Magazine

Scoop.itI have already seen some services that basically let you create a magazine on your browser (such as Openzine), but I believe this is the first time that I review one that lets you build and publish a magazine right on your iPhone. Quite amazing, wouldn’t you say? Letting you put a magazine together while you’re on the go, and publish it.

If it sounds too good to be true, then that is because it is too good to be true. What Scoop.it lets you do is the closest to creating a magazine on your iPhone yet. But it’s not the same. It lets you aggregate content found online, and have it shared with whomever you want. It’s more of a curation tool than an app for creating your own magazine from the ground up, and publishing it.

Still, that doesn’t make the app any less impressive. You can bring together content from all over the Internet, review it, edit it, and then have it posted as part of your own publication.

Scoop.it can be used at no cost to begin with, but the free version of the service limits the number of topics you can publish per account to 5. And you have to use Scoop.it’s own branding. These limitations disappear when you go for any of the two available paid accounts. There’s one for experts and another one for businesses, and they cost $12.99 and $79 per month.
