The Appalachian Mountain Club is the nation’s oldest outdoor recreation and conservation organization. The club promotes protection, enjoyment, and wise use of the mountains, rivers, and trails of the Northeast outdoors.
If you enjoy outdoor activities and feel that you would like to help in preserving the beautiful landscapes of the Northeast United States you should consider becoming a member. You’ll be helping out while enjoying the many fun activities that AMC offers, as well as the AMC Outdoors magazine. There are already many members and volunteers that enjoying the many trips and the AMC organizes including activities such as hiking, climbing, skiing, and snowshoeing to name a few. Take the opportunity to learn about the outdoors and how you can be safe and care for the natural world around us. The AMC maintains over 1,700 miles of trails for people to take advantage of, as well as work to protect alpine and forest ecosystems, advocate for land and riverway conservation, and even monitor air quality.
