RelevantMind.com – Wisdom of The Crowds Product Evals

RelevantMind.comRelevantMind is a community-based, intelligent product-review search engine built on the power of communities. Instead of having you enter in a query and running a generic keyword search like you would on Yahoo or Google, RelevantMind searches dozens of social networks and user-generated content sites to find you the best collective opinion about the item you’re looking to purchase.

They base their system on the “wisdom of the crowd” mentality, citing that regular search engines may not turn relevant results, while product review communities don’t provide a middle-of-the-road opinion (usually, you either love or hate a product, and that’s why you review it). RelevantMind is built off of verticals, and currently only has two operating (cycling and golf). Soon, however, RelevantMind will be adding cooking, climbing, and other verticals.

Some Questions About RelevantMind.com

Currently, RelevantMind only features two verticals; when will they add more? Cycling and golf draws a limited audience. In order to use the service well, a lot of time is required; users have to handpick through the results to get a good idea of how good a product is. RelevantMind.com
