Osnapz.com – Building Up A Social Hierarchy

Osnapz.comOsnapz is a website that intends to let social web frequenters be recognized for what they do. That is, it aims to reward the achievements of those who are regular social web users by adjudicating badges to them.

These come in different shapes, with the ones that denote the biggest degree of involvement being obviously the ones that are more voluminous. They are given out when you reach a certain number of followers on services such as Twitter or Facebook, and also when the user has watched a minimum number of videos on a site like YouTube.

When all is said and done, the site provides us with an interesting way to measure social activity. Having tried it, I wonder why this was not done before to such an extent. There are people who spend a considerable amount on the social web each day, and in many cases they are doing good – IE, making others happy. A system like this one makes it all the more evident who is exactly who, and it is absolutely unequivocal and immediate. I just wonder if sites aping this concept will start cropping up massively from this point onwards. I am no soothsayer, but I think the likelihood is pretty high.
