How To Create Engaging Visual Content In Less Than 30 Seconds

Elevator Pitch

Pablo lets you create engaging social media images in 30 seconds.

Why It’s A Killer Startup

Everyone knows that good visuals are key to high engagement on social media. The Buffer Blog – my personal go-to for all things social media – reports that “content with relevant images gets 94 percent more views than content without.”

That’s a pretty damn significant stat, dontchya think?

But the problem is, creating engaging visual content often falls to the bottom of the list for those of us who spend most of our time writing words. Sure, we all know that we should spend more time on the images but, at least for me, that task often falls to the bottom of the to-do list. I’m not trained in Photoshop or really anything else that has to do with images and, frankly, learning what I need to know just takes more time than I have right now.

Pablo is Buffer’s quick and dirty solution to the problem. The example they give is a quote over an image. You can choose one to use one of their pics (from Unsplash, another KillerStartups’ favorite) or you can upload one of your own. Also, obviously, you can change the text of the quote.
Once you’re satisfied with the final product, Pablo offers links directly to Twitter, Facebook, or Buffer. Unfortunately, they don’t put the images in the body of the tweets but instead include a shortened link. If you want the image in there, you’re going to have to download it and then upload it to Twitter yourself. Hopefully this is a glitch that will be corrected in future versions of Pablo but in the meantime, you’re just going to have to take those few extra seconds and do it yourself.

Regardless, Pablo is a great way to create interesting, shareable content quickly. I know that I’ll be using it for a few different social media campaigns from here on out.
