Business matchmaking app Scheduit – the Tinder of the professional world – is helping busy professionals to engage in some mutually beneficial partnerships.

Ever been in a business conference and thought, ‘Wow, I really want to know more people here’? No, us neither. But perhaps it’s time to change that hostile viewpoint and, instead, open our arms to the wider business community. Yes, that even includes the graying CEO at the front, by the stage who is now asking his fifth question before lunch. Yes. Even him.
Scheduit is an app that connects professionals together and helps them network more efficiently, including organizing meetings and other stuff that you could do by just picking up a phone. Users ‘announce their presence’ to show when they are available to network, and the app intelligently alerts only compatible users that are nearby. Through the ‘Schedumeter’ (which admittedly wins no prizes for catchy names) users can see if the compatibility is high, in which case they can request a meeting.
In its latest incarnation, Scheduit uses Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to make better suggestions based on previous successful matches. It also helps users to navigate their way through an array of attendees at business events to see if they would make good matches. Conference attendees can even use the app to download materials from exhibitors, vote on polls related to sessions, and share the event on social media. Both users and the event must be registered with Scheduit beforehand.
But how did it come to this? How did we get to a stage where apps are not just useful, but needed, to build and sustain successful business networks? Is it not a sad enough state of affairs that we date in this mechanical fashion? Apps like Tinder and Happn have nullified the magic of chance encounters and, to an extent, Scheduit does the same to businesses. Perhaps that is a luddite’s view of looking at things – perhaps this will boost the business experience for millions all over the world. We will have to wait and see.
