InvisiblePeople.tv – Homelessness In America

InvisiblePeople.tvWe do never stop to think about these things that we should actually think about the most. They say that people only learn to measure up something when they have lost it, and that is true.

This particular resource has been started by Mr. Mark Horvath, a former TV executive that once lost everything and had to experience what it is like to be homeless.

The site gathers together interviews with those who are for the most part invisible to us as we go on our daily lives. We sadly bypass people on the streets because we are too concerned about banalities or because we do not want to look truth in the eye. Are we scared by what we might really find? Is it fear of seeing a fellow human being and realizing that we can actually do something for helping him and that we don’t want the hassle? It is all very sad, but it is even sadder to go through life pretending our eyes are open when they are actually completely closed.

The interviews you can find on this site are very moving, and they have an emotional impact I have rarely seen. I won’t say you will be a better or a worse person if you decide to watch these videos. All I can tell you is that you will be more of a person for sure. Not better, not worse. Just more human. When you are ready for that, pay the site a visit and be prepared to ponder a lot.

InvisiblePeople.tv In Their Own Words

“Fourteen years ago, I lived on Hollywood Blvd. But today, I find myself looking away, ignoring the faces, avoiding their eyes — and I’m ashamed when I realize I’m doing it. But I really can feel their pain, and it is almost unbearable, but it’s just under the surface of my professional exterior.

For years I’ve used the lens of a television camera to tell the stories of homelessness and the organizations trying to help. That was part of my job. The reports were produced well and told a story, but the stories you see on this site are much different. These are the real people, telling their own, very real stories… unedited, uncensored and raw.

The purpose of this vlog is to make the invisible visible. I hope these people and their stories connect with you and don’t let go. I hope their conversations with me will start a conversation in your circle of friends.”

Why InvisiblePeople.tv It Might Be A Killer
