Personally, I love GIFs. Whether they’re used to express just the right emotion in a message or for making one of my posts just that much more fun, GIFs are maybe one of my favorite parts of the internet right now. (Them and video chat – because without it, I would never talk to people back home. And also cute animal pics. And Facebook…)
However, up until now I’ve had to be satisfied with GIFs of Beyoncé or Emma Stone or other people’s cats when I’m looking for just the right moving picture. With GIPHY CAM, however, I can now create GIFs of my own weird face or my own pets. Giphy has been my go-to for GIFs for ages now, and I’m super pumped to add their camera to my arsenal of fun online tools.
The app lets you record your own gGIFs using a 5-frame burst mode, which will create a looping GIF for you. Use it make funny faces for your own reaction GIFs, to catch your pets doing something weird, or even just to record trees bending in the breeze. You can even add effects to your GIFs, like photo filters or one of the 40 overlays and other effects that Giphy offers. Once you’re satisfied, you can use your new GIF any way you want: send it in a personal message, post it on social media, or just save it for later.
The internet is a weird, sometimes creepy, often delightful place. GIPHY CAM ups that delight just a little bit by letting all of us let our weird show in the form of our own custom GIFs. So what are you waiting for? Get GIFing!
