DropPlay.com – Music For Everyone

DropPlay.comThe social web is still in full bloom, and if you do not believe it just pay this site a visit to see how different services are melded into one and presented as something that has a character and life of its own.

In a certain way, DropPlay is a mixture of Facebook with iTunes and a little bit of Pandora thrown in for good effect.

In practice, this means that using this service you can share music with your Facebook friends. You can create a playlist and spread it as much as you wish, and all the functionalities one associates with the popular network apply.

The service is quite interesting, but I can’t help worrying about its legality and how long it will go on before big names do put a stop on it, especially considering all the recent activity from EMI, Warner and other industry names that (as it is fit) are protecting their assets from any current or potential abuse. I frankly hope some sort of middle ground is reached, as the overall concept is very, very compelling and I wish a solution that keeps both punters and the industry satisfied is devised soon.
