There are even artists that release compilations of demos, actually – Andy Partridge has released a long series named “Fuzzy Warbles”, and XTC itself released two albums that were named “Homespun” and “Homegrown”. These featured the blueprints of the songs that ended on the “Apple Venus” volumes.
So, people are always keen on listening to the songs the way they were conceived originally. A resource like Demo Hero makes sense, as people can submit demo recordings from any popular artist they might have in their possession for everybody to listen to.
The site is still in beta, but the content itself is already as good as you can imagine. When I tried it out I came across Madonna’s first demo tape ever (“Remembering Your Touch”), and I must say that it was amazing. An interesting site if I ever saw one, and a mandatory visit for music lovers.
