search cancel – Find Demos & Rare Recordings

Demohero.comThis is a music community of its own, as it revolves around something no other music site on the WWW focuses solely on: demos. Yes, these home recordings that artists create in order to set down the bare bones of the songs they will eventually flesh out with a band, and that fans are understandably keen on.

There are even artists that release compilations of demos, actually – Andy Partridge has released a long series named “Fuzzy Warbles”, and XTC itself released two albums that were named “Homespun” and “Homegrown”. These featured the blueprints of the songs that ended on the “Apple Venus” volumes.

So, people are always keen on listening to the songs the way they were conceived originally. A resource like Demo Hero makes sense, as people can submit demo recordings from any popular artist they might have in their possession for everybody to listen to.

The site is still in beta, but the content itself is already as good as you can imagine. When I tried it out I came across Madonna’s first demo tape ever (“Remembering Your Touch”), and I must say that it was amazing. An interesting site if I ever saw one, and a mandatory visit for music lovers. In Their Own Words

“Share and find unreleased music demos from many artists! DemoHero, saving the world from long artist demo searches.”
