You would think that standalone chat applications would have had their day, but you would be wrong. Sites such as Cuyx just go into proving that.
I guess that people like to have a specific spot where they are able to interact free from other interferences. That definition certainly applies to this site, since people who use Cuyx are provided with a chat functionality that is completely uncluttered, and that can be as focused as they want. That is, they are given the chance to pick the country they live in so that they will chat with people in their close vicinity only. Alternatively, they can choose a different country and make new international friends.
There is not a lot more to be said. I don’t know how successful something like this can be now that every major service on the web has built-in chat capabilities. Facebook does. Yahoo does. Gmail does. And so does everybody else. I guess it all boils down to a matter of tastes and preferences, but I frankly doubt there is enough demand out there for something such as this to be economically viable any longer.
