This site stands as one of them. It can be termed a spot for looking up missed connections. People can post “stories” detailing everything from when did the chance encounter happen to what everybody was wearing in the hope that the other person reads the story and get in touch. That will only happen if the site manages to make a name for itself, of course. But doing something like this sure beats sitting with your arms crossed humming “I wonder if I’ll ever see you again…”
I think that the site would work far, far better if social integration were provided in one way or the other. After all, posting a message here is not that dissimilar to sending out a message in a bottle. You know it is going far, but you don’t know if it is making it to where you want it to go. Let’s see if that improves over time.
