Available both for iOS and Android, Bribespot is an application that aims to put an end to corruption by taking a crowdsourced approach. You see, what this app does is to let you report anonymously on bribes. And not only can you report on these fraudulent activities that are going on – when using Bribespot you are actually allowed to see corruption hotspots in your close vicinity. A clear map display is provided to these purposes, and it should be enough for crimefighters to know where something shady is taking place.
And in addition to letting users see the exact location of bribes, the app makes for realizing which areas of the government are implicated, and the average size of these bribes that have been paid.
This is all very interesting, and while I have some doubts concerning how pranksters will be kept out of the whole bribe-reporting process, I do have to commend the app for its novelty and potential usefulness.
