AnthmApp.com – Party Playlists By Guests

AnthmApp.comCreating a party playlist is tons of fun… provided all the people who attend are like you, that is. But the more friends of friends who come to your party, then the more people who might not agree with your music selections there will be around. There’s going to be clashes between what you find enjoyable and what people who are just tagging along see as “good” music. However, if you could just play one song that you know they would love then that would make things easier for everybody. Just one song. That’s what might end up making all the difference, what might provide a ready topic for conversation and let you break the ice faster, what might let people take a true shine to you. But there’s no way of knowing what each and every person would like to listen to without asking them first. Or without letting them have their say on the creation of the playlist itself. And that’s exactly where a tool like Anthm comes in.

Simply put, Anthm is an application that lets people control the music being played at any party they attend. Anthm is available for iOS (iTunes link), and it lets people who have an iDevice pick these songs that they have always loved, or that they just feel like listening to. Others guests will then be able to vote these selections up and down, and the ones that make it to the top are the ones that will be played.

Integration with Rdio means that people can choose from over 12 million songs, and you can password-protect your party. This is to avoid just anybody from fiddling with the choices being made by your guests. The way this service works, all the parties that are using Anthm can be visualized at once, so bored people wouldn’t have that much problem disrupting your classic rock mix with a song or two from Justin Bieber.
