Amccars.net – For Devotees of AMC Cars

One of the legendary automotive brands of the past is American Motors. Amccars.net is a amateur website devoted to the study, maintenance and upkeep of Ramblers, Nash Americans, Javelins, Gremlins and many more iconic automobiles. The site requires some patience on the part of the visitor – the front page has many broken links and missing images. Almost all the page sections listed on the left hand column of amccars.net are non-functional, including Reader’s Rides, AMC Archives, Events, Chat, Video and Links. However, there is still one functioning and updated section of the amccars site – the message forum.

The AMC forum section of amccars.net is not only alive, but is in apparent constant use, judging from the dates of posts. There are five main categories on the forum: Public Arena, Tech Talk, Racing/Off-Roading, The Lounge and Swap Meet. Public Arena is devoted to general chat and administrative functions. Tech Talk covers everything an AMC owner would need to know about engines, transmissions, suspensions and restoration ideas. Racing/Off-Roading is pretty self-explanatory, while The Lounge is a space for everything from pictures of cars to suggestions and archives. It also contains a link to the Ufeud debate site, in an apparent effort to minimize the number of attack postings on amccars.net. The most heavily-trafficked section of amccars is the Swap Meet area, where cars and parts are offered for sale, help and supplies are requested, links to classified ad sites and a listing of good or bad experiences can be found. Users can also browse eBay and other auctions on amccars.net in order to find the best deals on these collectible vehicles.
