ACDIVOCA.orgAs a private, international development nonprofit organization, the folks from ACDIVOCA.org work to promote economic opportunities for enterprises, communities, and cooperatives through the use of solid business practices. ACDIVOCA focuses on five main areas of business development, including 1) Agribusiness Systems, 2) Enterprise Development, 3) Financial Services, 4) Community Development, and 5) Food Security. ACDIVOCA stands for “Agricultural Cooperative Development International” and “Volunteers in Overseas Cooperative Assistance.”

ACDIVOCA.org receives funding from a variety of donors including the World Bank, USDA, USAID, UNDP, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as from other sources including the private sector.

With projects in the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, the ACDIVOCA currently have projects in 40 countries as well as several global initiatives and programs. ACDIVOCA applies value chain strategies to economic growth while fostering poverty reduction. They utilize strategic planning, impact assessment and a broad range of other services to accomplish their work. ACDIVOCA helps to manage donated agricultural commodities from the United States for the USDA and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

ACDIVOCA has more than 10,000 highly skilled volunteers throughout 130 countries ever since it was founded in 1971. For people interested in volunteering, ACDIVOCA.org provides information on their domestic and international volunteer opportunities. Visitors can search for volunteer positions by category, keywords, and location. Other resources on the website for current and perspective volunteers include an extensive FAQ, news, and information on volunteer support. ACDIVOCA also has an internship program.
