UNESCO is the United Nations’ Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, a multi-lateral agency that encourages international peace and universal respect by promoting collaboration among nations by conducting studies and sharing knowledge. In this site, users will be able to find institutional information, like committee integration and agendas, access to publications, regional offices and research projects.
Since 2008 has been declared the International Year of Languages, lots of information on linguistic issues is available at the site right now. A particularly useful feature about Unesco.org is the photobank, which is divided by regions and topics, so users can get hold of great pics from around the world for free (users have to indicate what they will be using the photos for, though). The site can be viewed in several western and Asian languages as well.
