The Parents Television Council is an organization dedicated to minimize the exposure of children to sex, violence, and profanity on television. They work with elected government officials to try to pass legislature that will help protect children from actual programming. They are a nonpartisan group, which means they are not associated with any political party. Parents that are concerned about the content of television programming can join the Parents Television Council. There is a list of local chapters, so you can find the one closest to your home or area. You can sign up for PTC news alerts. They will email you every time there is a news update that is worthwhile. Parentstv.org is a great resource for concerned parents to start fighting back against current TV programming that is contaminating children. There are movie reviews, so their coverage extends to movie theatres.
