Asla.org – The Website for the American Society of Landscape Architects

Asla.org is the website for the American Society of Landscape Architects. ASLA represents over 18,000 members in 68 student chapters and in 48 professional chapters. It is a national professional association that offers memberships for groups that represent all 50 states and give members many discounts and benefits for being a member. Users can find events across the country including the Annual Meeting and Expo that is located in several different states including Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, and Massachusetts.

ASLA can assist students with information on having a career as a landscape architect. There are schools accredited by the Landscape Architectual Accreditation Board that can make it possible for students to acquire professional degrees at the bachelor and master levels in the United States for landscape architecture. Some states have colleges with as many as seven degree programs that are accredited by the LAAB. These colleges are displayed on the asla.org website and includes the contact information for the college along with a listing of the type of programs offered.

In the resource center of the ASLA website, you can find information on obtaining licensing for your professional business and renew your membership online. You can discover more about the 17 specialized communities known as the Professional Practice Networks that are supported by ASLA. These groups can only be joined exclusively by ASLA members and you can find out information for each group to see how to qualify. These groups include Housing and Community Design, Children’s Outdoor Environments, and Landscape Architecture and Transportation. For more information on ASLA, you can look for books in the online store written by asla.org members and find magazine subscriptions, computer software, and contracts.
