The main source for information about Alzheimer’s or Dementia has to be the Alzheimer’s Association website at alz.org. Their website gives quick access to mountains of information about local chapters, the diseases, living with them, current research, and how the average person can help.

Alz.org allows somebody living with these diseases or the people taking care of them support through a variety of ways. They have a local chapter support group search via zip code or state, which is presented on the top of the home page. Furthermore, they have an eNewsletter for keeping up to date with the latest research and news involving Alzheimer’s and Dementia. There is also an online message board and 24/7 helpline when a local chapter or support group isn’t enough. Also, there are quick links for various people from the afflicted and their caregiver to their physician and the researcher.

Alz.org provides a bevy of information from what the diseases are to current research and news about them in plain English. They have sections dedicated to explaining the nature of Alzheimer’s and Dementia, describing the signs and symptoms to look out for and the facts and myths of having the diseases. There is even a separate section for finding professional care providers and trained medical professions who can help manage and care for the afflicted.

Lastly, there is also pages dedicated to helping the Alzheimer’s Association fund research for a cure through an Alzheimer’s Walk or via charitable giving through donations or associated merchandise.
